Its marked Breveté SGDG which means it was patented in France without any guarantees from the government. This was made for resale for either Tiffanys or Mappin & Webb. It keeps good time with its floating spring balance wheel movement which is wound up from the rear of the clock. Its fitted with an alarm which works as it should, this can be set to silent.
The clock face is also in good shape and marked Made in France. The Shagreen case is in remarkable condition for its age as these often get damaged beyond repair, it has the odd scuff and mark but otherwise its ok. The original silk liner is still intact with just the odd indentation from the winding keys.
The doors close well and lock to the front. The case is 17cm x 7.5cm x 13cm H. The Reveil is 14cm x 4.5cm x 10cm H. This is as good as it looks and a is classy piece of Art Deco!
