Pair DIRK VAN ERP Shell Casings Vases Arts Crafts Hand Hammered WNY 1901-1906

A Pair of Dirk Van Erp shell casings made when he worked at Mare Island Shipyard in Vallejo, California from 1900 until 1908. Reusing spent shell casings Van Erp created vases, chalices, covered jars, almost anything you can think of.

These shell casings are marked 1901 & 1906 WNY so these predate WWI by at least 10 years and are not Trench Art. These vases are 10 1/2' high by 2 1/2 wide not counted the ruffled rim.
