Design: Vanity compact case with mirror in original leather protective cover ca. 1930's - 1940's. Authenticity: Signed Tiffany & Co. 14K on the inner edge. See comparative Tiffany & Co. Designs in newspaper advertisements printed in the 1930's - 1940's (photo 12). Material/s: 14k Yellow Gold, stamped "14K". Case has been XRF tested. Stone/s: 5 round cut diamonds & 4 emeralds. Dimensions: 70mm x 54mm x 10mm; 87.6 grams. Accessories: Comes in the original Tiffany & Co. Gold leaf detail is still present on the case with only a small tear to note. Condition: Excellent vintage condition with a natural patina to the gold. It has not been polished so to preserve the patina. The case has only very light surface wear consistent with gentle use. The case opens and closes with precision. All stones present and securely set. One emerald has a small chip on its corner but not readily noticeable. The mirror is intact with only minor signs of ageing. The seamlessness of the hinge speaks volumes for the quality of this case (see photo 9). A premier example of luxury from an era of true elegance.
